Thanks, very much! This is sort of a dual portrait of my best friend, "Doc" (pair of docs, Paradox...) the angriest and most healing person I've ever known...
Thanks whisperlight; don't know how I missed your comment (it's from Aug 12), but I'm very new and making all the new mistakes...
very cool images at your gallery and haunting words at your web site; but the background image there is breathtaking! Is that your work also...?
Part of it is, and part of it isn't. I have to admit that I borrowed the initial image from another artist --- my only saving grace (and, please note, the only reason I can allow myself to say "borrow") is that I altered it significantly. Originally, the main image had been a simple (yet absolutely haunting) doll-like and sexless figure intertwined with the ivy. I removed it, and played with the color scheme. I then added the lock, playing with opacity and colorization. Of course, the words/shadow effects/blurrations were done by me as well.
I was very pleased with the final image. I'm just left crossing my fingers that I haven't offended the original artist with my "borrowing"
Your obviously very talented, and you're bound to be inspired by other artist's work... you should send that artist your variation; that person's in a unique position to appreciate the journey you went on together...
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
